World of Catbird

Our collections are envisioned as an enduring love letter, deeply influenced by the vibrant spirit of New York City and the quiet beauty of everyday life. We draw inspiration from a diverse tapestry of sources, ranging from the cinematic narratives of classic films and the depth of beloved novels to the simple sensory experiences found in Italian bakeries, the rhythmic motion of a drive-through car wash, and the way afternoon light gracefully shifts across a room. More than anything, our designs are shaped by the profound connections we share with the women in our lives, our dedicated colleagues, and the complex, beautiful realities of friendship, romance, and the universal experience of love and loss.

Since our establishment in two thousand and four, we have championed the philosophy that fine jewelry should not be reserved for rare occasions but intended for daily wear. We encourage the practice of layering and stacking pieces over time to create a look that evolves alongside your own personal journey. Every item is conceived within our design studio in Brooklyn and manufactured to the highest possible standards, ensuring both aesthetic beauty and structural integrity. Our commitment to the planet is a central pillar of our identity, reflected in the fact that over ninety-five percent of our pieces are crafted from recycled solid gold and ethically reclaimed diamonds.

Our dedication to sustainability has been a defining feature since our inception. By consolidating our operations under one roof in the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard, we maintain a remarkably small carbon footprint. Furthermore, our use of environmentally responsible materials and FSC-certified packaging represents our long-standing effort to minimize our impact on the Earth. This focus on ethical practices is complemented by our philanthropic efforts, which have been an essential part of our operations from the very first day. A portion of every sale is donated to nonprofit organizations that share our values regarding social equality and mutual support. We are incredibly grateful to our community, as your continued engagement has allowed us to contribute over two point three million dollars to these vital causes.

Beyond the jewelry itself, we take great pleasure in sharing the things that currently occupy our thoughts and inspire our creative process. Our internal mood board is a shifting collection of passions, spanning everything from the comfort of daytime-appropriate nightgowns and curated music playlists to the classic aesthetic of black-and-white cookies and literature from writers like Zadie Smith. We find endless inspiration in artistic works, such as the jewel-toned arrangements by Joseph Cornell or the whimsical humor found in the cartoons of Sam Gross.

We also treasure the connection we have built with you over the last two decades. We have been collecting your correspondence since we first opened our doors, and these notes—whether sent via traditional post or through digital channels—are tucked away throughout our offices as a constant reminder of our shared history. Your words serve as a testament to the relationships we have cultivated and the stories we have been privileged to be a part of. We invite you to continue sharing your experiences with us, as these interactions are what truly define our purpose. If you have any questions or wish to connect with our team, please do not hesitate to contact us at ‪(408) 800-5702‬ or send an email to catbirdnycusa@outlook.com. We remain deeply invested in the work we do and in the community that makes it all possible.
